During PeterKiT, cooperation agreements were signed between SPUFT and partners
November 15, at the business venue of the St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum, in the Marble Hall of the Russian Ethnographic Museum, as well as in the main building of St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television the signing of cooperation agreements between the SPUFT and domestic and foreign partners. During the PeterKiT festival, 7 agreements were signed. On the part of St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television, the agreement was signed by the university rector, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, member of the Union of Russian Filmmakers, Professor Alexander Evmenov.
In the era of globalization, it is impossible to engage in creativity and stay apart from everyone. In order for students from different cities and countries to have the opportunity to communicate, share experience and knowledge with each other, the university organized the International Student Film Festival “PeterKiT”. A good tradition is the signing of cooperation agreements between the university and partners, which takes place during the St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum.
The signing participants were: Special Representative of the Chairman of the Investment Group LLC Chengdu Wuhou Industrial Development - Investment Management Group Tan Xingquan, President of the Russian-Chinese Fund for the Development of Culture, Education and Science Tsui Shan, Special Representative of the President of the Communication University of China Zhao Hui, President of Silk Road Media Grigory Pelman, Executive Director of the Youth Center of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia Dmitry Yakunin, Acting Director of OGAUK“ Ulya novskKinofond Sergey Bratishchev, director of Kuzbasskino Elena Dudkina, Executive Director of the Foundation for the Promotion of Science, Culture and Cinema "Odyssey" Olga Kristinina, director of the Non-Profit Cinema Support Fund “Example of Intonation” (Alexander Sokurov Foundation) Nikolai Yankin.
The main direction of signing was a common interest in establishing partnerships, developing long-term and effective cooperation, as well as in conducting joint events, workshops, competitions, festivals, conferences and other creative and educational projects and improving communications between countries and regions.
The cooperation between SPUFT and the Union of Cinematographers of Russian Federation is aimed at jointly conducting the All-Russian pitching of debutants at International Student Film Festival "PeterKiT 2020" with a prize from Union of Filmmakers of the Russian Federation - 500 000 RUB.
All participants and partners of the signing expressed hope that the cooperation will be fruitful and the result will not be long in coming. Dmitry Yakunin, Executive Director of the Youth Center of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, spoke about the opportunities that will open up for students after the conclusion of the agreement:
– We are very pleased that SPUFT has supported the Pitching of Debutants project! First of all, this is a great opportunity to compete for a prize fund of up to 500,000 rubles. Also, the guys will have a chance to travel around the country, promote their own work in the film market and, of course, share experiences with filmmakers from other regions!
Presenting the All-Russian Pitching of Debutants-2020, Dmitry Yakunin noted that the project will host 25 competitions for young directors, producers, screenwriters with a total prize pool of 12.5 million rubles. The pitching will take place in 17 regions of Russia as part of film festivals, film markets, and forums.
Expanding the geography of “All-Russian pitching of debutants” project, the leadership of Union of Cinematographers of Russia signed agreements with such regions as the Kemerovsky Region, Primorsky Territory, Chelyabinsk, and the Republic of Crimea.
Fund President Tsui Shan commented on the signing of a partnership agreement between St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television and Russian-Chinese Foundation for the Development of Culture, Education and Science.
– This is a very important project aimed at the development of education, culture and cinema. We are glad that one of the most famous Russian film school has become our partner and we hope that this agreement will further strengthen relations between China and Russia!
Special Representative of the President of the University of Communications of China, Professor Zhao Hui, answered why SPUFT was chosen for cooperation:
– St. Petersburg State University of Cinema and Television was not chosen by chance. The specificity and orientation of the university is largely similar to our Chinese school. We are also focused on the fields of cinema and television. We are very anxious about the agreement, which we managed to sign last year. Now we have further strengthened and approved our partnership, as well as outlined areas that we will work together.
The president of Silk Road Media, Grigory Pelman, after signing the tripartite agreement, spoke about the new horizons that are opened for students of SPUFT:
– After signing this agreement, an opportunity opens up to show and hope for the joint production of not only films in Russia, but also for a Chinese audience. I believe that this is an extremely important step, which will certainly lead to incredible results in the future!
