Students of SPUFT's Acting Department participated in the International Student Theater

In May 2022, the XIV International Student Theater Festival "APART" culminated in Saint Petersburg. Students of SPUFT's Acting Department participated in the festival and adequately represented our university by earning 11 laureate awards. Although this time our actors did not get the Grand Prix as it was in 2021, three SPUFT's performances received deserved recognition from the jury members and the audience!

The VIII International Film Festival of Student Works by Sound Engineers INtonations will start at SPUFT on May 16

This year the annual festival-competition will take place from May 16 to May 20. The competition list includes 50 short films from 17 countries. Within the festival will be held screenings of student works, meetings and master classes from famous sound engineers to name a few.

SPUFT's student has been selected to participate in the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity

Anastasia Semeshina, a 2nd-year student of the Advertising and Public Relations department of the Faculty of Television, Design and Photography, successfully passed the selection for the international advertising festival Cannes Lions organized by the Roger Hatchuel student academy. The festival will take place on June 19-24, 2022 in Cannes (France).

The V International Children's Film Festival Cinema Kids will begin on April 13

The Fifth International Children's Film Festival Cinema Kids will be held in Saint Petersburg from April 13 to 17, 2022. This year, about 500 film works of children and teenagers from different cities and countries took part in the competition. The festival helps children to try themselves as screenwriters, actors, directors.

SPUFT’s Student and Teacher Took Part in the Interregional Research-To-Practice Conference

On March 24, 2022 head teacher at the Foreign Languages Department Anna Oskina and a 2nd year student Binhao Quan made a joint presentation at the III Interregional Research-To-Practice Conference Modern Multicultural Education titled "Foreign language learning classes as an instrument of the internal internationalization and socialization of foreign students". The conference was held as part of the 2022 Saint Petersburg International Educational Forum.

«A Russian Youth» receives the Nika Russian Film Award

On April 25, Nika Film Award ceremony took place in Moscow. The prizes were awarded for two years (there was no award ceremony last year). The jury named the film “A Russian Youth” as the “Discovery of the Year”. A cinematographer of the film was Airat Yamilov, a graduate of St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television of 2013 (a workshop of Eduard Rozovsky, Sergey Astakhov and Aleksey Grebenkov) and a sound designer of the film was Andrei Fonin, a graduate of our university of 2006 (workshop of Vladimir Persov and Sergey Dementyev).

Film of Student of St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television is in Berlin International Film Festival

In March, one of the most significant film festivals in the world takes place - the Berlinale. This year, it is divided into two parts. Now the events are taking place online, but in June there is a hope to hold events for a wide audience offline. A full-length film from Russia, "The Fisherman's Daughter", directed by Uldus Bakhtiozina, was selected for the main competition programme. The selection committee of the Berlin International Film Festival got interested in this surreal story, based on Slavic tales and myths. The executive producer of the film is Maria Pavlova, a student of the Faculty of Screen Arts, Department of Film and Television Producing, St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television, group 3661.

In early February, the graduate of the St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television Kmel Ntsama finished the production of his film "Liza" in one of the filming pavilions of the Lenfilm film studio. Workshop on Visualisation with a Teacher of Rubika, Supinfocom and Gobelins schools in St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television

On October 28-30, 2020, as a part of the agreement between the Institut français in Russia of the Embassy of France in the Russian Federation, a short-term international creative project was organised. The project consisted of a conference, a meeting and a 3-day workshop in 3D graphics with Damien Ancinelle, a teacher of Rubika, Supinfocom, Gobelins French animation schools.

St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television topped the ranking of creative universities in Russia, which was held among 87 universities and branches including 47 universities of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The monitoring was carried out in 2019 and covered five main indicators: educational activity, research activity, international activity, financial activity and an additional indicator.

On November 29, the Academy of Digital Technologies held the awarding ceremony of the IV International Media Festival, which was held from February 09 to October 09, 2019 in two stages. Students from the WS Pro media project (T. Antikol, K. Kashkin, K. Tikhonov, P. Lebedeva) with the work entitled "The source of life" took part in the competition from St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television. They became winners of the II degree in the nomination "Best Social Advertising" on the Ecology of Life theme" in the second age category from 18 to 35 years old
