The University partnership programs with the world's largest electronics manufacturer was announced at the Moscow International Education Salon, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Rector of the University, Professor Alexander Evmenov (pictured right) and Masato Nakamura, the Vice President of Panasonic Company.

Student scientific-technical conference "Digital and information technologies in electronic media industry" took place at the St.Petersburg State University of Film and Television. This is the 12th annual event, where the competition between undergraduate and graduate students is held and the winners receive grants to participate in the International Broadcasting Convention IBC-2014 in Amsterdam.

Before the start in St. Petersburg of Europe's largest forum of contemporary art MANIFESTA 10 the St.Petersburg State University of Film and Television opened an experimental school for TV journalists in conjunction with the Exhibition Department of Education. According to the authors, the project Manifesta TV aims not only to introduce their students the practice of creating reports on cultural and art events , but also to lay down the foundations for a revival of a real cultural journalism in the northern capital.

30, June, Andreas Hoffmann, an Art Director of the Company of art curators and producers Pikene på Broen (Norway), visited the St.Petersburg State University of Film and Television. In St. Petersburg, he took an active part in the European Biennial of Contemporary Art MANIFESTA 10 and found time to talk with representatives of the University, which is one of the partner of the exhibition MANIFESTA 10.

June, 17, the members of the Aberystwyth University visited St.Petersburg State University of Film and Television. Professor in Film Studies Birgit Beumers, who specialises in Russian culture, especially theatre and film and has written some books on contemporary Russian culture and arts, and Murtza Ali Ghaznavi, Middle East Manager of International Office of the Aberystwyth University came to maintain and extend the dialogue between our universities in the language of cinema.

May 14th is the opening of the main European Film Festival in France. The Painted Bird film, student’s work by Evgeniy Tatarov, a graduate from the University of Film and Television (SPbGUKiT), is included into the Short Film Corner of the Festival this year.
