Final Meeting of Organising Committee of II International Pitching Competition of Student Synopses ONE EARTH – ONE FUTURE
On December 21, 2020 the final meeting of the organising committee of the II International Pitching Competition of Student Synopses ONE EARTH – One FUTURE was organised.
This year the teams represented three countries - Russia, China and the USA.
The works at the following nominations were discussed:
- Short Film
- Animation Film
- Feature Film
- Reality Show
The St. Petersburg State University was represented by Nadezhda Sabelnikova, Associate Professor of Film and TV Producing Department, and Pavel Danilov, Associate Professor of Film and TV Producing Department & Deputy Head of Film and TV Producing Department.
Galina Tsimmerman, Head of the International Relations Office, provided the members of the jury with Russian translations of the synopses of the foreign participants. Valeria Tsukanova, Specialist in International Relations of the Department of International Education, translated from/to Chinese. Anna Oskina, Leading Specialist of the Department of International Academic Mobility represented the International Relations Office.
The International Pitching Competition of Student Synopses ONE EARTH – ONE FUTURE is organised with support of Silk Road Media Russian-Chinese company and the Communication University of China.

Shooting of the first Russian-Chinese feature film "The Last Drop" started at SPUFT
The film script was selected last autumn at the IV Russian-Chinese pitching of student synopses for film, television and new media "ONEFUTURE". The event was organised by SPUFT, Jilin Animation Institute (Jilin City, China) and SILK ROAD MEDIA production centre.

On 29 July, Natalia Gorina, Head of the Department of Film and Television Production, held a meeting with Evelyn Mutsvanvgwa, Legal Advisor to the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Arts and Recreation of the Republic of Zimbabwe, who was the representative of the official Zimbabwean delegation at the Second Russia-Africa Summit and Economic and Humanitarian Forum held in St. Petersburg on 27-28 July 2023.

Chinese students were welcomed at SPUFT
On May 15, a solemn meeting of foreign guests took place at the St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television. Students and teachers from Hainan Normal University were welcomed by representatives of the university. As part of the foreign delegation, Secretary of the Committee of the Youth Union Cai Ting and acting teacher Ruan Yongchen visited St. Petersburg.

SPUFT graduate's film premiered at the Busan International Short Film Festival
The world premiere of the film Aykuo by Ayaal Adamov took place within the framework of the Busan International Short Film Festival. The film is the graduation work of the student of Alexander Sokurov's class of the Saint Petersburg State University of Film and Television.

Olga Lyubimova: "The INtonations Festival has become the main industrial platform for those who work with sound"
The grand opening of the IX International Film Festival of Student Works of Sound Engineers "INtonations" took place at the Saint Petersburg State University of Film and Television. More than 500 applications from 22 countries were submitted to the Festival, 69 works are included in the competition program.

The INtonations Festival updated the record for the number of applications for participation
The IX International Film Festival of Student Works by Sound Engineers INtonations has set a new record for the number of applications for participation. In total, the organizers received 576 works, of which 114 came from Russian film schools and 462 from foreign ones.

SPUFT's student has been selected to participate in the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity
Anastasia Semeshina, a 2nd-year student of the Advertising and Public Relations department of the Faculty of Television, Design and Photography, successfully passed the selection for the international advertising festival Cannes Lions organized by the Roger Hatchuel student academy. The festival will take place on June 19-24, 2022 in Cannes (France).

SPUFT’s Student and Teacher Took Part in the Interregional Research-To-Practice Conference
On March 24, 2022 head teacher at the Foreign Languages Department Anna Oskina and a 2nd year student Binhao Quan made a joint presentation at the III Interregional Research-To-Practice Conference Modern Multicultural Education titled "Foreign language learning classes as an instrument of the internal internationalization and socialization of foreign students". The conference was held as part of the 2022 Saint Petersburg International Educational Forum.

The contest was held by Vologda State University from October 11 to November 11, 2021. More than 90 students from various Russian universities participated in it.

Film of Student of St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television is in Berlin International Film Festival
In March, one of the most significant film festivals in the world takes place - the Berlinale. This year, it is divided into two parts. Now the events are taking place online, but in June there is a hope to hold events for a wide audience offline. A full-length film from Russia, "The Fisherman's Daughter", directed by Uldus Bakhtiozina, was selected for the main competition programme. The selection committee of the Berlin International Film Festival got interested in this surreal story, based on Slavic tales and myths. The executive producer of the film is Maria Pavlova, a student of the Faculty of Screen Arts, Department of Film and Television Producing, St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television, group 3661.
