SPUFT summed up the results of the XIX International Student Festival “PeterKiT”
The festival was held during the VIII St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Government of St. Petersburg. On November 19, the awarding ceremony of the laureates took place on the stage of the St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television concert hall.
The festival program lasted 6 days and included a series of master classes from professionals in film industry, film screening of competitive works, discussion of pressing problems in the field of cinema and animation.
The jury of the festival was headed by Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Soviet and Russian film playwright, member of the Union of Russian Filmmakers, artist, film actor, film director, screenwriter Alexander Adabashyan. The artistic director of the festival is Soviet and Russian screenwriter, film director, playwright, actor, writer, member of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, People's Artist of the Russian Federation Viktor Merezhko.
The president of the festival, the rector of SPUFT, honored worker of science of the Russian Federation, professor Alexander Evmenov congratulated on the end of the festival:
– I want to heartily congratulate all the participants! All those who not afraid to present their work at the festival, and wish them to continue in the same spirit! Never stop, only move forward. I express my deep gratitude to our jury for the done work, everyone knows how difficult it is to choose the best from the best. Thanks to the team of organizers who turned this festival into a real holiday and, of course, thanks to the audience. This year, the shows were attended by many guys, friends, acquaintances and relatives, we hope that you enjoyed the views and personally made sure that our movie is able to surprise. We take the first step towards the "PeterKiT" anniversary!
Much attention was paid to the mentors of students. Masters and heads of departments were invited to the stage, almost each of them emphasized the growth in the level of student work at SPUFT and their willingness to go international level.
Alexander Adabashyan, who led the jury of the festival this year, was impressed by the works he looked at and wished the guys good luck in their chosen profession:
– You are experiencing the happiest time of your life, so use it correctly! You have everything ahead. Each of you is talented! Remember that student time is for filming, writing, playing, trying, showing. Only now we need to do this in order to follow the road to the world of big cinema.
Victor Merezhko noted the increase in the level of Festival:
– It is amazing to watch how the festival grows and develops every year, how much deeper, more interesting and better student films become. This “PeterKiT” has just ended, and I am already looking forward to next year! Thanks you!
The Festival Grand Prix was taken by a student at the Netherlands Film Academy Daphne Lucker for the film "Sisters". This is a story about three girls who, due to circumstances, grow up in a ruined house. Daphne was unable to attend in person at the presentation of prizes, but recorded a video message to the guests and the jury of the festival:
– This is very unexpected news for me! I am very pleased with this prize and regret that I can't attend the closing of the festival. I wish you creative success and prosperity!
Due to the victory of student from Amsterdam, the General Consul of Netherlands in St. Petersburg, Mr. Lionel Weir, greeted the PeterKiT festival with a welcoming speech.
For the past 19 years, the PeterKiT festival has been one of the few venues where students in the learning process can assess their capabilities, cooperate with future colleagues and learn from each other's mistakes. We look forward to the XX International Student Festival “PeterKiT”!

7. Best Director Prize - Irina Kireeva for the film "Romance for the French Horn", VGIK named after Sergey Gerasimov.
8. Best Cinematography Award - Vadim Orishchenko for the film "Coma", St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television, workshop of Ivan Bagaev and Victor Vasiliev.
9. Best Sound engineering Award - Alisa Slivinskaya for the films "Sashka" and "Saglan", St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television, workshop of Yuri Kubitsky.
10. Best film of a foreign film school - "Attack of the Dead" film, directed by Hasby Gradal Even, Westerdals Film School.
11. Best Producer Award – Alexey Snezhko for the film "Mad Dog"
