On February 25, the first all-Russian student TV channel began broadcasting. The founder of the channel is the International Association of Student Television (IAST). Student media center of our University participates in creating content for the new TV channel
The purpose of the first all-Russian student TV channel is to form an active civic position of students, "to broadcast successful experience in implementing youth projects and student initiatives, to improve youth journalism and to improve the quality of content created in media centers of universities." At first the channel will work in the format of round-the-clock IP-broadcasting, and then it will go to cable and satellite networks.
The broadcasting grid of the new channel will be filled with video material created in the media centers of the universities of the association. The programs being produced will touch upon the themes of education, youth policy, science, creativity, culture, sports and volunteering.
The student media center of our University, established on the basis of the Faculty of Management and Media Communications, has been actively involved in the projects and activities of IAST since the spring of last year. The University has already prepared content for the new channel: IGIKIT MEDIA programs and final qualifying works of bachelors studying in the direction of "Television".
- Cooperation with the International Student Television Association is promising for students: it is an opportunity to enter the all-Russian level, exchange experience with students from other universities. In addition, to prepare content for a solid channel requires a serious responsibility of the author, "- said the dean of the Faculty of Management and Media Communications Olga Chesnova.
Very soon viewers from all over Russia will be able to look at the events taking place in St. Petersburg and in our University through the eyes of our correspondents and operators, and we will be able to quickly learn about the news in the student environment of the country.
